The beginner finger flip is a great way for skaters just starting out to get the feeling of the board flipping beneath them while both feet are in the air. Pete’s photo and video give a clear breakdown on how to tackle this move.

How to skateboard lesson
“Start off by placing your back foot on the tail and your front foot on the ground in a tailstop position. Next, grab the side of the nose where your thumb is on the griptape side of the board and the four fingers underneath. Then, firmly gripped, flip the board with your hand in a counterclockwise motion. As you do this jump forward as the board flips under your feet and land with both feet on the bolts.” – Pete Betti
